Narasimha Swamy is the moolavirat vigrah showing the darshanam with very Angry face with the 8 Hands (One Hand Shanku, One Chakra, One hand Kathi, One hand Kedyam, one Suporting girp Head and Foot of Hiranyakasyapa  stiing Padmahasanm 2 Hands killing "Hiranyakasyapa".  with swamy and ''Prahaladha" standing Behind the Swamy.

Kadiri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy - Lord Maha Vishnu took the form of Narasimha Swamy to kill Hiranya Kasyapa.Even after killing the demon, he started roaming around forests..


'Ka' means Vishnu Padam (Foot Print), 'Aadri' means Hills so the place got the name as 'Kadri' later turned into 'Kadiri'. Belief is that Narasimha Swamy stayed at the roots of Chanda Vruksha (Kadiri Vruksham or Canary Tree or Indian Mulberry - Tree) for a very long time.Interesting fact associated with this temple is, Sweat comes out of the Idol after Abhishekam.
